Advent is such a special time of year when we get ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas Day, December 25. The most important way to prepare is spiritually!
There are special traditions connected with the season of Advent, such as the Jesse Tree, the Advent Wreath, the O Antiphons, and the special Advent novena starting on November 30, the feast of St. Andrew the Apostle and continuing until Christmas.
The origins of the “Christmas anticipation prayer” are unknown, but it is thought to have come from Ireland. This beautiful little Advent prayer is easy to memorize, and you can pray it any time of the year, not just during the Advent season!
