When and How to Ask St. Carlo’s Intercession
Pray before Mass or adoration, for a young person, or when asking how to use your gifts well. Add a personal intention, then pray an Our Father or Hail Mary. Carlo was canonized on September 7, 2025, so this prayer addresses him as Saint Carlo. The original prayer is not presented as the association’s official text.
Is Carlo Acutis a Saint?
Yes. Pope Leo XIV canonized Carlo Acutis with Pier Giorgio Frassati on September 7, 2025. The Vatican’s canonization homily reflects on their love for Jesus and their generous response to Him. A current intercession prayer should call him Saint Carlo.
What Is the Official Carlo Acutis Prayer?
The association publishes a historical prayer for his canonization, with an imprimatur from Bishop Domenico Sorrentino. Its wording still asks for Carlo to be placed among the saints. Read the association’s complete historical prayer. The imprimatur attached to that text should not be transferred to newly edited wording.
Can I Ask St. Carlo to Pray for My Child?
Yes. Catholics may ask a canonized saint to intercede for a child, a family or a personal need (CCC 2683). Bring a specific intention and ask for the grace to follow Christ. Prayer is not a guarantee that a particular request will be granted in the way you expect.
Why Is There a Eucharistic Painting Instead of Carlo’s Photograph?
The painting illustrates Eucharistic adoration, a devotion central to Carlo’s life; it is not a portrait of him. Many well-known photographs belong to photographers or his family. Using a verified CC0 sacred image lets readers pray without implying that every online portrait is free to reuse.
