To Jesus Through Mary
Mary our Mother’s mission is to lead us safely to Heaven to be with the Holy Trinity forever and ever. “Devotion to the Blessed Virgin in no way detracts from the Glory of God. Rather, it leads us directly back to that Author of all good, Who has willed her to be so great and so pure” (Venerable Pope Pius XII).
The phrase “to Jesus through Mary” is therefore Christ-centered. Catholics do not worship Mary or treat consecration to her as a replacement for baptism, the sacraments, or direct prayer to God. We ask the Mother of Jesus to help us imitate her faith, receive her Son more faithfully, and place every part of our lives at his service.
Marian consecration is best understood as a deliberate renewal of that desire. It becomes fruitful through daily prayer, growth in virtue, participation in the sacramental life of the Church, and concrete obedience to Christ.
Consecrating yourself to Mary means that you give yourself into her hands so that she can lead you ever closer to Jesus. It is striving for holiness with your hand in Our Lady’s. (What a beautiful thought!)
