Do you have loved ones who have died? Send us their names. Throughout the month of November, the Knights of the Holy Eucharist will remember them in prayer before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. There is no cost. We simply want to pray with you for those you miss.

What Is All Souls Day?

On November 2, the Church remembers all the faithful departed. The day after All Saints, when we celebrate those already with God in heaven, we turn to those who have died in God’s friendship but may still need to be purified before they see Him face to face. The Church calls this purification purgatory (CCC 1030–1031).

Our prayers truly help them. Because we belong to one family in Christ, the living and the dead are not cut off from each other. From the earliest centuries, Christians have prayed and offered Mass for their dead, trusting in God’s mercy. For this reason the whole month of November is set aside for praying for the souls in purgatory.

How We Will Pray for Your Loved Ones

Every day in our friary chapel in Lincoln, Nebraska, the brothers kneel in adoration before Jesus in the monstrance. During November, the names you send us will be with us there. We bring them to Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, pray for them through the day, and include them in the Masses offered each month for all who ask our prayers.

Many people who write to us are grieving a recent loss. Others have carried a name in their hearts for decades. Every name is welcome: a parent, a spouse, a child, a friend, or a soul who has no one else to pray for them.

Send Us the Names of Your Loved Ones

Use the form below. Under Prayer Topic, choose Departed Souls, and list as many names as you wish. You may add a few words about them if you like. Your request stays private.

A Prayer for All Souls Day

The Church’s simplest prayer for the dead can be said at any moment of the day:

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace.
May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

You may also pray with us in these words:

Lord Jesus, present in the Most Blessed Sacrament, we bring before You all our loved ones who have died. Forgive whatever was lacking in their lives, purify them by Your mercy, and bring them quickly into the joy of Your Father’s house. Comfort all who mourn, and keep us faithful until we meet again in Your kingdom. Amen.
