Total Consecration: Bishop Conley

May 15, 2019

What is Total Consecration?

Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary is a 33-day course that builds on True Devotion to Mary according to St. Louis Marie de Montfort. It’s an amazing way to grow deeper in your faith and draw closer to Jesus through Mary. Each of the 33 days includes a short video, some written reflections, and prayer time. Join us!

This video was made in 2018 as part of the Rosary Crusade in which the Knights traveled to 35 schools speaking to the students about the importance of praying the daily rosary and participating in Eucharistic Adoration.

Bishop James Conley is asking the faithful to consecrate (or re-consecrate) themselves to Jesus through Mary according to the method of St. Louis Marie de Montfort. Brother Julian Mary from the community Knights of the Holy Eucharist has prepared a video series to take us deeper into our consecration.

Consecration implies mission. God has given us each a mission at our baptism to faithfully complete. If we do not fulfill this mission, no one else will – it is OUR mission. Mary, the Mediatrix of all grace, gives us everything necessary to do the will of God in our particular calling.

At Fatima, three of Mary’s essential messages were to first, repent and do penance; second, to pray the Rosary daily for the conversion of sinners and third, to consecrate oneself to her Immaculate Heart.

Marian Consecration is a way to totally consecrate oneself to Jesus through Mary and is preceded by 33 days of preparation before consecrating oneself on a Marian feast day. After the first year, people may re-consecrate themselves every year after that. Mary was Christ’s first disciple, and Christ’s most perfect disciple; thus, she has a thing or two to teach us about authentic discipleship.
